Priorities…Do You Know What Yours Are?

July 9th, 2008 No Comments »

Priorities, priorities, priorities. It seems that you hear about them everywhere you go. Everyone talks about how important it is for you to prioritize your activities so that you can get the most out of life and manage your time efficiently.

As I get older, I am beginning to realize just how important priorities are in life. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how much they mattered when I was younger raising my children and working at various jobs.  In my case, my children always came first above anything else I did, but I think I could have done a better job with the time I had with them. It was so easy to worry about what I “should” have been doing when I was spending time with them. If I were raising children today, I would not feel the same way. I would treasure each moment with them and never allow anything to make me feel guilty.

But life goes on. Now that I don’t have any children at home to take care of, it’s time to take care of me. Perhaps you’re at that point in your life too. It’s time to realize that you as a person should be a priority in your life. Your job, other people’s demands–they don’t matter when you think about the rest of your life.

Take some time to really think about what matters to you. Do you have family members or friends who you  want to do things with? Do you have a hobby that you’ve always wanted to take up? Sometimes we get so busy with our lives that we just go on autopilot and don’t even think that anything could be different.

Today, I dare you to do something just for you. Don’t worry about the housework that’s waiting or the bills you need to pay. Spend some time enjoying the person that you are today and doing something that you want to do. I think you’ll find that it gives you a whole new perspective on priorities.

The Beginning of a New Blog

May 9th, 2008 No Comments »

Sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone–and that’s what I’m going to do on this blog. Instead of trying to create some marvelous marketing wonder, I’m just going to be myself and share my thoughts and experiences with you.

I truly have no specialty in life or in Internet marketing. My interests are many and very diverse. My life has been filled with multiple different types of job and life experiences. I love reading, writing, and researching. I have been a Work at Home Mom. Then I graduated to a Work at Home Nana. Now I am a Work at Home Empty Nester. (Is that even a title?) I am a lifelong musician and was a piano teacher for many years. I am a health-conscious individual who thinks that alternative medicine is often better than traditional options. I am a network marketer who loves sharing my favorite candles with people.

Now that my children are living their own adult lives, it’s time for me to work on myself. I am realizing that this time of life is a great time to work on personal development so as to enhance my entire being. I invite you to come along with me on this journey. Maybe you’re doing the same thing in your life right now.

I hope you’ll visit my blog regularly and see what I’m up to. In addition to my own experiences, I will probably be posting some book reviews and recommendations. When I write new articles or create new websites, I’ll let you know. If I hear about something that really strikes a chord with me, I’ll post about it here.

To a new beginning…
